ChildLab specializes in pediatrics, so we understand the stress that laboratory testing can cause to the child and the parent. With  19 convenient locations throughout Ohio, we promise to make your experience as stress-free as possible. Our exceptionally trained phlebotomists are committed to providing special care and attention to your child.

Your child will be asked to provide a specific specimen for the laboratory testing your physician is requesting. That specimen may be body fluids (blood, urine, etc) or a stool sample.

For more information on how some specimens are collected, please click here.

Some tests may require special preparations before the test can be performed. This may include fasting or avoiding certain medications. Your physician should provide you with a prescription for the test to be processed, as well as special instructions to prepare for and/ or transport the specimen if it was collected at home. Please follow these instructions carefully.

What Should I Bring?

Please bring these items with you when visiting a ChildLab Laboratory Service Center:

  • A ChildLab requisition or physician prescription with the name of the test to be ordered.
  • A current insurance identification card
  • Driver's license or photo id
