Clinical, Teaching & Research Interests*:

Thomas G. Gross, MD, PhD, is the Chief of the Section of Hematology/Oncology/Blood and Marrow Transplant (BMT) at Nationwide Children’s Hospital, a member of the Center of Childhood Cancer Research at The Research Institute at Nationwide Children’s Hospital and an Associate Professor of Pediatrics at The Ohio State University College of Medicine. His clinical and research interests are pediatric BMT and lymphoma, in particular the treatment of cancers in immunocompromised patients, such as post-transplant lymphoproliferative disease (PTLD). He is an active clinical researcher through the Pediatric Oncology and Viral Oncology Program at the National Cancer Institute designated Ohio State University Comprehensive Cancer Center (OSUCCC) and numerous cooperative clinical trials groups. He serves in leadership positions at OSUCCC, including serving on the Institutional Review Board and Clinical Research Scientific Council. He is the Principal Investigator for a PTLD clinical trial in the Children’s Oncology Group (COG), and is the Chair of the NHL Disease and Scientific Chairs Committees, and is a member of the Scientific Council and Executive Committee in COG. Dr. Gross serves as an Associate Editor for Pediatric Transplantation and Advances in Hematology, as well as being on the Editorial Board for Pediatric Blood and Cancer, the Pediatric Cancer Statement of the Physician Data Query at the National Cancer Institute. He is on the Board of Trustees for the National Childhood Cancer Foundation and on the Board of Directors of the Israel Penn International Transplant Tumor Registry.
