A national reputation. A national resource.
At ChildLab, we strive to strengthen and expand our role as one of the country’s leading pediatric reference laboratories. Our resources, combined with those of The Research Institute at Nationwide Children’s Hospital, enable us to collaborate on some of the most important and advanced projects in the country.
We’re developing new molecular testing programs for cancer, infectious diseases and neuromuscular disorders. Our Cytogenetics/Molecular Genetics Laboratory, as a part of the Biopathology Center (BPC), serves as a reference lab for acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL), neuroblastoma, Wilms tumor, and rhabdomyosarcoma for the Children’s Oncology Group (COG) studies. The BPC also serves at the biorepository for pediatric oncology samples to promote new research. In addition, the BPC serves as a Biospecimen Core Resource, processing tumors for The Cancer Genome Atlas (TCGA) funded by the National Institute of Health (NIH).
Our Anatomic Pathology Laboratory is highly specialized in pediatrics. We are one of the few labs in the country that perform detailed testing in pediatric intestinal dysmotility. Laboratory equipment manufacturers also look to us to conduct alpha and beta testing of lab equipment and methodologies that will be used nationally.
By combining the latest technological advances with pediatric expertise, ChildLab can help you provide the highest level of care to your patientsand their families.
